Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities are a central part of the Senior School experience at Denstone, offering pupils in Years 7–11 the opportunity to explore interests, develop new skills and build confidence beyond the classroom; they are a defining feature of life in the Senior School.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, pupils can choose to take part in a wide range of co-curricular activities or use the time to focus on their Senior academic studies. This flexibility is built into the Shape of the Week, ensuring a healthy balance between academic commitments and personal development.
As you will see from the activity lists below, there is something for everyone. Pupils can immerse themselves in senior sport, express creativity through senior arts, or take on responsibility through senior leadership and service opportunities. These experiences play a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals and, over time, help pupils build the skills that support future pathways and career aspirations; strong communication, teamwork, commitment and initiative, which later feed into senior results, careers and further education.
Activities are selected each term from a dedicated list for each year group, allowing pupils to tailor their experience to their interests and ambitions. All activities are open to all pupils unless otherwise stated, reinforcing the inclusive and supportive nature of life in the Senior School.
Participation in co-curricular life also complements the College’s strong focus on senior pastoral care, helping pupils to build friendships, develop resilience and maintain a positive sense of wellbeing throughout their time at Denstone.
